Into the Longhouse

The film shows a meeting between tourists and the Iban people from Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo.

We follow the tourists from boarding the plane and later their way into the jungle. As they are on their way, we see the Iban people preparing for the expected visiting tourists. When meeting in a longhouse we witness diverging tourist and Iban opinions on why this meeting is taking place, what goes on, and what the consequences of the meeting may be. Shown at the NAFA festival in Bergen, 1996.
